Nicholas Sparks was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska on December 31st, 1965. He was raised by his two parents Patrick and Jill, along with two siblings, Danielle and Michael. As a child Nicholas moved all over, from Minnesota to Los Angeles, and Grand Island and then finally settling down in Fair Oaks, California. Throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school Nicholas attended schools in Fair Oaks. As a senior in 1985 he got the title of valedictorian of his grade, and got a full ride scholarship to the University of Notre Dame. During his freshman year at Notre Dame he got a bad injury while doing a relay race for a club team at school. During his recovery that summer he wrote his first novel although it wasn't published. As the years went on Nicholas went on with his life like any other person would, he got married in 1989 to his wife Cathrine. Eventually they moved to Sacramento, California and then settled down in North Carolina. Then in 1994 he wrote his first novel The Notebook over a sixth month period, and it eventually got published in 1996. After his most famous book was published, he was writing and publishing books ever since then.
